The weather is warming up and chances are one of your favorite local businesses has reopened for the season! Whether its your favorite ice cream shop, drive-in restaurant or garden and produce stand, we’ve got the inside scoop to how you can enjoy them as soon as possible.


Barker’s B&K

You can find two classic B&K Rootbeer stands right here in Kokomo. You can find Barker’s B&K at 1100 E. Markland Ave. and take a step back in time to an old-fashioned drive-in carhop experience. From the classic breaded tenderloin to a coney dog just how you like it, just make sure you wash it down with a delicious B&K Root Beer.

Now open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Rupert’s B&K

Another Kokomo staple, Rupert's B&K has been locally owned and operated since 1976. There is nothing quite like the nostalgia of a drive-in restaurant experience and a delicious cheeseburger. Make sure you stop by 2105 N. Davis Rd., here in Kokomo to see for yourself! Open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.


Bloom Time Gardens

Bloom Time Gardens is ready to help you bring color to your home! Check out their beautiful flowers and hanging basket selection perfect for Mother’s Day!

Hours:
Monday to Friday: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Closed Sundays (Open Mother’s Day 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

City of Firsts Adventure Park

Grab your bat, putter and tennis shoes for a fun time at the City of Firsts Adventure Park! Whether you have a little one interested in driving the Kiddy Cart or you’re an adult who needs speed in a Fast Cart, you can experience it all right here in Kokomo this summer.

HomeTeam Ice Cream

When the ice cream pulls up, you know things are getting serious! The HomeTeam Ice Cream truck is now booking their truck, cart and mini freezer for your events large and small!

KokoGo Free Ride

Kokomo’s very own free bike share program is almost open for the season! Beginning on April 26, you can experience downtown Kokomo (and beyond) and its beautiful trail system on two wheels, at your own pace, for free.

Kokomo Frozen Custard

Scoops Ice Cream

Two amazing locations in Kokomo are NOW reopened for the season! With dozens of ice cream flavors, quakes, banana splits and so much more, Scoops has the perfect treat to satisfy that summer craving.

Next to the City of Firsts Adventure Park at 408 Arrow St., Kokomo and next to Bruno’s Pizza at 1231 W. Jefferson St.

Hours:
Monday through Thursday: 3 to 9:30 p.m.
Friday: 3 to 10 p.m.
Saturday: Noon to 10 p.m.
Sunday: Noon to 9:30 p.m.


Top Banana Farm Market

Top Banana Farm Market is a community favorite for gardening, plants, outdoor decorations and fresh produce. Open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week, then from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (June through October), make sure you stop in and support local businesses right here in Kokomo!

Wally and Ollys of Kokomo

This is one spot on the north end of Kokomo that can’t be left off of your summer bucket list! You may recognize the name Wally and Ollys from their original location in Logansport, but you can now find this locally-owned ice cream and concession shop here in Kokomo.

Stop by and enjoy a sweet treat at this unique spot and check out their Betty Boop statue and collection of vintage signs while you’re there.

Wednesday & Thursday: 3 to 9 p.m.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday: Noon to 9 p.m.
