The Howard County 4-H Fair is Off to a Fun Start: Opening Day Recap

It’s finally fair week in Howard County and the Howard County 4-H Fair is officially in full swing. The fair runs from July 7 to 12 and our team was out there on Opening Day to soak it all in and snap some photos of the fun as it kicked off.
There’s just something about the first day of the fair. The smell of fair food fills the air, and the fairgrounds slowly come to life with families, friends, and plenty of smiling faces. You could feel the excitement as people showed up ready for a week of rides, games, livestock shows, and all the classic fair traditions.
The food stands were already cranking out corn dogs, lemon shake-ups, and fried everything. Meanwhile, over at the barns, 4-H members were hard at work getting their animals ready for the big shows happening all week.
Our team was there to capture the start of it all. The smiles, the snacks, and those little moments that make the fair such a big part of summer here in Howard County.
And the best part? The fun’s just getting started. The fair runs all week long so there’s plenty of time to come out, grab your favorite fair food, catch a show, or cheer on the 4-H kids showing their animals.
Check out our photos from opening day. We’ll be out there all week covering the fair so stay tuned for more highlights.
