Baseball Is Back, Baby: Creek Chubs Kick Off Inaugural Season with a Big Win at Municipal Stadium
Baseball is back, baby and Municipal Stadium is buzzing once again.
Last night, May 27, marked the inaugural season opener for Kokomo’s brand-new team, the Creek Chubs, bringing fresh excitement to the city after the loss of the Kokomo Jackrabbits. And if opening night was any indication of what’s to come, Kokomo is more than ready for this new era of baseball.
Fans filled the stands at Municipal Stadium as the Creek Chubs officially took the field for the first time in franchise history. The atmosphere was electric from the moment the gates opened, with excited families, longtime baseball fans, and curious newcomers all gathering to celebrate the return of summer baseball in Kokomo.
From Creek Chubs mascot Hooks entertaining the crowd to fans lining up for brand-new merch, the night had all the ingredients of a perfect home opener. Add in fireworks, high-energy staff, and a community eager to rally behind its new hometown team, and Municipal Stadium felt alive again.
And to make the night even sweeter? The Creek Chubs walked away with a win in their very first game.
It was the perfect way to kick off summer in Kokomo, bringing the community back together once again under the lights at Municipal Stadium.
