Plymouth Post 27 (Junior) opened the 2025 Post 6 Junior Summer Classic in dominant fashion Friday, shutting out Kokomo Post 6 (Junior) 11-0 at CFD Investments Stadium at Highland Park.
The Diamond Spyders wasted no time taking control, scoring six runs in the top of the first inning while batting around the order. Aidan Macias led off with a single and later came around to score on a Mekhi Pulluaim RBI double. In total, Plymouth tallied seven hits in the inning off Kokomo starter Josh Middleton.
Middleton struggled early and never found a rhythm, allowing 10 hits and eight runs over three innings. He struck out one and walked one. Landen Goldsberry came on in relief and pitched the final two innings, giving up three runs on three walks while striking out one.
Plymouth continued to add to its lead throughout the game. Max Grube scored in the second inning on a Braxton Alderfer sacrifice fly. In the third, Parker Adamson crossed the plate to make it 8-0. Adamson scored again in the fifth on a Cruz Rosas RBI double, and Rosas and David Monesmith later came home on a two-run single by Grube to cap the scoring.
Dom Vasquez was dominant on the mound for Post 27, tossing a complete-game shutout. He held Kokomo to just one hit over five innings, striking out seven and walking three.
The tournament continues through Sunday and features teams from across the region, including Princeton Post 25, South Haven Post 502 and Bettesville Post 733.
