Pile It High: Why Kokomo Can’t Stop Talking About Yummy Bowl
Did you know there’s a place in Kokomo where you can pile food as high as you can for one price? In the latest episode of Kokomo Uncovered, partnered with Community First Bank of Indiana we stopped into Yummy Bowl for lunch.
But first, you might be wondering… why would a bank be hyping food? Well, because Community First believes in supporting local and so do we. Pretty un-bank-like, right?
Just a few months ago, a new restaurant popped up on the south side of Kokomo that had the community buzzing before the doors even opened. Yummy Bowl was already known for its reputation in surrounding cities, so when word spread that Kokomo was getting one of its own, excitement followed fast.
If you haven’t been to Yummy Bowl yet, consider this your sign. In the short time it’s been open, my family and I have already been several times. While you can order dishes, sushi, and sides from the menu, the real hype and the real experience is the bowl!
Here’s how it works: your server brings you a bowl and a card. On the card, you select your carb, write down your name and table number and then head to the self-serve station. From there, you pile your bowl as high as you can and I truly mean as high as you can. There’s no limit, as long as it fits in the bowl.
The options are impressive. From fresh vegetables to a wide variety of proteins, there’s something for everyone. And the customization doesn’t stop there. Once your bowl is stacked, you move on to the seasoning station, filled with different spices and flavor boosters to match your taste. Then comes the final step… the sauces. In true Yummy Bowl fashion, the choices are endless.
After loading up your bowl, you slide it over to the chefs, head back to your seat and in no time your custom creation is delivered straight to your table. And you guys… it is, in fact, yummy. So yummy. And as a bonus, I always leave with leftovers that last me at least one or two more meals.
