PREDICTION: Taylor Looks to Build on Recent Success

The high school football season is fast approaching, and there’s no better time to start predicting regular-season records for teams across the county.

Every game matters during the regular season, and one result can change the outlook for an entire year. Throughout this series, we’ve broken down each Howard County team’s schedule, predicted the outcome of every matchup and projected where each team could finish in 2026.

Taylor enters 2026 coming off back-to-back winning seasons, the first time the Titans have accomplished that since 2007-08. Can Taylor continue that success with another winning season? We take a closer look at the schedule and project where the Titans could finish.

Taylor High School
Head coach: Tim Weeks (entering second season at Taylor; 1-9 at Taylor, 19-35 in seventh season overall)

Taylor enters 2026 looking to build on back-to-back winning seasons. The Titans return several players with experience on both sides of the ball and welcome Tim Weeks back for his second stint as head coach.

Senior Dylan Underwood will take over as Taylor’s starting quarterback after playing tight end and linebacker last season. Underwood caught 17 passes for 195 yards and four touchdowns while recording 72 tackles and 12 tackles for loss. He will also play strong safety this season.

Senior Keyshawn Galloway returns at wide receiver and free safety after leading Taylor with 38 receptions for 631 yards and four receiving touchdowns last season. He also recorded 42 tackles and three interceptions, which ranked second on the team.

With experience returning at several key positions, Taylor will look to continue its recent success and reach six or more wins for a third consecutive season.
