Western Tops Eastern 6–4 on the Road
With home field unplayable due to weather, Western’s matchup against Eastern was moved to the Comets' turf field Tuesday night—but that didn’t stop the Panthers from earning a 6–4 win and improving to 24–5 on the season.
Western tallied eight hits in the win. Brady Comer went 2-for-3 with a stolen base, while Levi Shoemaker and Charlie Brewer each drove in two runs. Ryan Rodman and Gavin Denton also chipped in with a hit and a run apiece.
On the mound, Jaiden McNulty threw four innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out four. Denton handled the final three frames in relief, giving up one run and striking out four to lock down the victory.
Eastern kept the game close, but Western's timely hitting and bullpen sealed the deal.
Western returns home Friday to host Taylor for Senior Night.
Eastern is back in action Wednesday with a conference road matchup at Taylor (Kokomo, IN); first pitch is set for 6 p.m.
