Kokomo Bobkats Ready to Tip Off 2026 Season

The wait is over. The Kokomo Bobkats tip off their 2026 season tonight.

Kokomo’s sports scene continues to grow, and the Bobkats are a big part of that momentum. The team enters its sixth season in The Basketball League (TBL), a professional league that gives players the opportunity to begin their pro careers while delivering competitive basketball across the country. Local fans are eager to cheer the team to victory.

Chandler Levingston Simon returns for his third season as head coach. He’s been with the Bobkats since their inaugural 2021 season, first as a player and assistant coach before taking the helm. During Bobkats Media Day, Levingston Simon said the team has “unfinished business” and emphasized why he was motivated to return in 2026. Many players share that hunger to bring a championship to Kokomo.

The Bobkats begin the season on the road with two games: Feb. 27 at the Glass City Wranglers and Feb. 29 against the Hamilton County Huskers at Hamilton Heights in Arcadia, Indiana. After spending 2025 at Kokomo High School’s Haworth Gymnasium, the team returns to its home court at Memorial Gymnasium. The arena’s electric atmosphere, along with upper and lower bowl seating, offers fans prime views and a strong home-court advantage.

The first home game of the season adds extra excitement. The Bobkats host the Glass City Wranglers at 7 p.m. ET on March 14. General Manager Sam Beckom has been working to secure sponsors and organize the logistics for the big night. Season tickets are available at $140 for the upper bowl and $240 for the lower bowl.

Several familiar faces return for 2026, including Tremont “Fudge” Moore, Corey Boyd, and Trey Mitchell, all fan favorites. Local talent also joins the roster: Indiana University Kokomo graduate Noah Harris and Maconaquah 2025 graduate Josiah Ball. Harris sought the best opportunity to continue his professional career after college, while Ball played three games for Bethel University last season.

Longtime Bobkats Larry Plummer and Johnny Griffin Jr. will not start the season on the roster. Plummer, an all-TBL honorable mention in 2025, is playing elsewhere professionally, and Griffin Jr. is pursuing his music career in Atlanta. Levingston Simon said the team “fully supports” both players in their respective endeavors.

As the 2026 season tips off, the Kokomo Bobkats are ready to deliver high-level basketball for the city’s fans. With returning leaders, exciting new talent and the energy of Memorial Gymnasium behind them, the team is focused on building momentum and chasing a championship. Fans have plenty to cheer for this season, both on the road and at home.
