Everclear Closes Out Kokomo’s Summer Concert Series This Weekend at Foster Park
Kokomo, get ready! The finale of the Summer Concert Series is here and it’s leaving with a bang you won’t want to miss. Closing out the Summer Concert Series, Everclear will perform at Foster Park this Saturday.
If you grew up in the 90s, chances are you know Everclear. With hits like ‘Santa Monica,’ ‘Father of Mine,’ ‘Wonderful,’ and ‘I Will Buy You a New Life,’ the band became a memorable part of the decade’s rock scene. Their mix of angst and sing-along choruses made them iconic then and now Kokomo is about to feel that throwback rush live.
This summer has already given us countless memorable nights. From the very first show to the wild energy of Andy Frasco & the U.N. at the last concert, Foster Park has become more than just a park with a stage. The vibrant atmosphere has brought on a whole new energy and is exactly what the Summer Concert Series was built to create, thanks to a collaboration between the City of Kokomo, Kokomo Parks & Recreation, and the man behind the madness of entertainment and keeping Kokomo weird, Kyle Gibson, owner of The Coterie and Brick Street Deli. Kyle not only helped bring top-tier entertainment to Kokomo but also kept the crowds fueled with The Coterie’s signature burgers and brews.
We caught up with Gibson to chat about the finale concert and what this summer has meant for Kokomo. He shared that the best part of hosting the series has been “watching the city show up and turn Foster Park into this wild mix of family reunion, music festival and hometown block party. Seeing Kokomo people of all ages dancing, drinking and just being together in the park has been the best payoff.”
He went on to explain how much Kokomo has embraced the series, saying, “I’ve learned that Kokomo is hungry for culture when you give them something real. Good music, good food, good vibes — people will show up.”
And as for the big finale, Kyle summed it up simply: “This last show isn’t the end – it’s a celebration of how far we’ve come, and a spark for what’s next. Kokomo deserves this.”
As for next year? Well, we tried. When asked if he had any teasers or plans he could share for the 2026 Summer Concert Series, his response was simply “no.” Classic Gibson. He may be keeping plans under wraps for now, but if this summer has been any indication, whatever’s next is bound to be just as exciting.
So, Kokomo, don’t miss out. Bring a chair, grab a drink and enjoy one last night of live music as Kokomo wraps up the Summer Concert Series.
