Get Excited, Kokomo: The Jackson Morrow Park Splash Pad is Opening This Weekend!
Yes, you read that right. After much anticipation, the brand new splash pad at Jackson Morrow Park is officially set to open this weekend! While some of us are sipping pumpkin spice lattes and settling into fall mode, Kokomo is about to make a little more room for summer fun. And with the forecast calling for sunny skies and temps in the mid 80s, the timing could not be better.
The news broke on this Monday’s episode of The Mayor Tyler Moore Show. Mayor Moore himself shared the update with plenty of excitement, saying, “You heard it here first” as he announced that the long awaited water meter was finally approved after months of unexpected issues and scheduling conflicts. The mayor confirmed that testing would begin on Tuesday, September 9, just in time for a weekend of splashing, laughing and soaking up the last rays of summer.
Moore added, “I’m excited to finally have that approved and on and ready for folks to enjoy before the weather gets too much colder.”
That means, Kokomo, the wait is over. Families will get the chance to break out their swimsuits, let the kids run wild through the sprinklers, and make some sunny memories before the chill of fall sets in.
So, here’s the plan: grab your pumpkin spice latte in one hand, your beach towel in the other and get ready to enjoy the first weekend of fun at the Jackson Morrow Park splash pad. It’s the perfect way to give summer one more hoorah before picking up those Halloween costumes.
