The Kokomo BobKats’ final regular-season home game was a thrilling ride for fans. BobKat supporters packed Haworth Gymnasium to catch one last look at the team before The Basketball League playoffs begin next week. Kokomo pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat the Lake County Legacy, 131-122.
Lake County set the tone early, attacking the paint and building a lead. The Legacy clogged the lane to limit Kokomo’s interior scoring and shot a blistering 56% from the field in the opening quarter. Meanwhile, the BobKats struggled, shooting just 28%, and trailed 35-25 after one.
In the second quarter, Kokomo turned to its second unit—and it delivered. Jalen Stamps provided a burst of energy that sparked a momentum-shifting run. Lake County couldn’t respond, and the BobKats surged ahead to take a 57-55 lead into halftime.
The third quarter turned into a back-and-forth battle, with both teams trading baskets and neither able to pull away. Kokomo held a narrow 94-90 lead heading into the fourth.
That’s when the BobKats hit another gear. Stamps once again led a decisive run, and this time Lake County couldn’t keep up. Larry Plummer, Fudge Moore and Trae Barber all came through with key buckets that brought the home crowd to its feet. While the Legacy had three players score 25 or more points, it was Kokomo’s balanced scoring that made the difference.
The BobKats now turn their focus to the regular-season finale in St. Louis on Saturday, May 24. Tipoff is set for 8:05 p.m. ET.
