Western Heads to Semistate with State Title Repeat in Sight

Western has dominated its postseason with the poise and power of a team on a mission. The Class 3A No. 3 Lady Panthers haven’t allowed a single run in the tournament, shutting out every opponent with stellar pitching and sharp defense.

Riding a wave of momentum, Western looks ready to defend its crown. They’ve raised their level with each game and are now just two wins away from another trip to the state finals.


3A North Semistate

The Class 3A North semistate at Twin Lakes High School features four strong programs—each

aiming for a spot in the state finals.

Western (27-3) enters the weekend focused on one goal: maintaining their high level of play as

they continue their quest to repeat as state champions. The Lady Panthers will take on a tough

Mississinewa team (21-4) in the second semifinal, with first pitch set for 1 p.m.

Columbia City (19-5) and Hanover Central (15-12) open the day with the first semifinal at 11 a.m.,

kicking off a slate of high-stakes, emotion-filled matchups fans won’t want to miss.
