There’s a new place in Kokomo to satisfy your sweet tooth and if you’ve never heard of a Bundtlet or a Bundtini, don’t worry. We’re about to get you caught up.
Nothing Bundt Cakes is officially open in Kokomo, bringing the popular specialty cake bakery to 1419 S. Reed Road.
And despite the name, this isn’t simply a traditional bakery selling a few large Bundt cakes.
Nothing Bundt Cakes has built an entire concept around one dessert, offering its signature Bundt cakes in everything from bite-sized portions and individual cakes to large decorated cakes for birthdays, weddings and other celebrations.
The company was founded by Dena Tripp and Debbie Shwetz in Las Vegas in 1997. What started in their home kitchens has since grown to more than 550 bakery locations across more than 40 states and Canada.
Now, Kokomo has one of its own.
So, what exactly is Nothing Bundt Cakes?
Think of it as part bakery, part dessert shop and part celebration store.
The specialty is, you guessed it, Bundt cake. But rather than the plain Bundt cakes some people may remember sitting on grandma's kitchen table, Nothing Bundt Cakes has turned them into an entire dessert lineup.
The cakes are handcrafted in the bakery and finished with the company's signature cream cheese frosting, recognizable by the thick ribbons of frosting running down the sides of the cakes.
Customers can stop in for an individual treat, pick up a dozen miniature cakes for the office or order a fully decorated cake for a major celebration.
Bundtinis, Bundtlets and Bundts, what's the difference?
If you're visiting for the first time, there are a few terms you'll want to know.
Bundtinis are the smallest option. They're cupcake sized miniature Bundt cakes sold by the dozen and can be ordered in an assortment of flavors. Because they're individually portioned, there's no cake cutting required, making them an easy option for parties, showers, meetings and other events.
Bundtlets are personal sized Bundt cakes. They're individually packaged and essentially serve as the company's answer to grabbing a cupcake or other individual dessert. They can also be packaged into gift towers and bundles.
Then there are the traditional Bundt Cakes.
The standard Bundt serves approximately eight guests, while the larger Big Bundt serves approximately 18. For an even bigger celebration, a tiered cake combines the two sizes and serves approximately 26 guests.
That means you don't have to be throwing a birthday party to stop in. You can walk in and grab something just for yourself.
And then there are the flavors
This may be where first time customers have the hardest decision to make.

Nothing Bundt Cakes regularly releases seasonal and limited-time creations. Right now, for example, the company is offering an Apple Pie Cake pop-up flavor featuring a spiced cake with cinnamon apples and brown sugar streusel for a limited time, while supplies last.

One thing that may surprise people who have never visited a Nothing Bundt Cakes is how much of the business revolves around celebrations.
