Recreation Adventure Program Expands to Jackson Morrow Park — A Summer Lifesaver for Kokomo Families!
Looking for an affordable, flexible, and fun way to keep the kids active and entertained this summer in Kokomo? The Recreation Adventure Program, hosted by Kokomo Parks & Recreation Department, is back and better than ever and this year, it comes with an exciting new addition: Jackson Morrow Park.
What Is the Recreation Adventure Program?
Running June 7 through July 22, the Recreation Adventure Program is a free, drop-in summer activity series that turns local parks into buzzing hubs of creativity, movement, and outdoor play. The program is available Monday through Friday, from 12 PM to 5 PM, offering something for every age and interest.
Here’s just a taste of what’s available:
🧩 Board games & card games
🏏 Whiffle ball, box hockey, dodge ball, and volleyball
🏀 Basketballs, hula-hoops, and tennis rackets with balls
🎨 Crafts ranging from 25¢ to $1 each — dozens of options!
🧠 Organized play led by program supervisors
Whether your child wants to shoot hoops, paint a masterpiece, or just hang with new friends, there’s something for everyone. So if your child is climbing the walls or glued to a screen this summer, this is a perfect reason to get up off the couch, put down the video game, and head to the park!
New in 2025: Jackson Morrow Park Joins the Lineup
Kokomo Parks and Rec. recently announced that Jackson Morrow Park is now an official location for the Recreation Adventure Program — and it has locals excited. Here’s why:
🛝 Newly updated playground: Freshly renovated and ready for fun.
🌳 Access to Kirkendall Nature Center: Great for a quick educational break or a cool indoor moment.
💦 Splash pad: Expected to be up and running soon — a perfect way to cool off after crafts and sports.
🌲 Scenic and shaded: It’s a spacious, beautiful spot to enjoy a full afternoon of activity.
With activities and staff available at Jackson Morrow Monday–Friday, 12 PM to 5 PM, it’s an easy and inviting spot to make the most of your summer days.
