PREDICTION: Taylor Looks to Build on Historic Sectional Title in 2025
The high school football season is fast approaching, and there’s no better time to start predicting regular season records for teams across the county.
Last week, we spotlighted Eastern’s 2025 campaign. This week, we head to the smallest school in Howard County, where Taylor is working to match the success it enjoyed in 2024, a season that ended with the program’s first IHSAA sectional championship.
It was a historic year for the Titans. Head coach Rob Patchett has spent the offseason sharpening the team’s fundamentals, improving strength and conditioning, and building the toughness that fueled last year’s championship run.
Follow along as we break down Taylor’s 2025 schedule and predict the Titans’ regular season record.
Taylor High School
Head coach: Rob Patchett (7-6 in 2nd year at school; 57-78 in 14th year overall)
A year ago, Taylor’s football team sparked belief and hope in its fans. For a program not known for success, the Titans turned the tide as confidence grew that they could defy the odds.
That same grit and determination will be needed in 2025. Taylor now carries a target after winning a sectional title. While some opponents may still underestimate the Titans, others will be ready for their newfound physicality and strong defensive play.
The schedule is full of challenges. The annual rivalry game with Eastern and a tough conference slate will test the Titans each week. Under head coach Rob Patchett, Taylor is eager to build on last season’s success.
