The summer heat didn’t slow the action on Day 1 of the City of Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department Tennis Tournament at Kokomo High School’s tennis complex. Players of all ages filled the courts, battling through long rallies and showcasing their skills in front of a lively crowd.
One of the best spots to take it all in was the grassy hill along the courts near the parking lot. From there, fans had a perfect vantage point to watch multiple matches at once, making it a popular gathering place throughout the day.
Tennis may not always grab the headlines in a sports-heavy city like Kokomo, but the turnout proved the sport is alive and well in the City of Firsts. For many, this tournament is a summer tradition—a free, family-friendly event that blends competition, community and the simple joy of watching the game played well.
